The Cardinal
Experience
Have you ever heard the term, cardinal experience? You are not alone.
Have you ever heard the cardinal associated with superstitions regarding our
deceased loved ones? Until about a year ago, I, too, was in the dark about The Cardinal Experience. According to
the experts at TheCardinalExperience.com website, this phenomenon is “a
specific occurrence or series of supernatural or spiritual encounters involving
a cardinal (bird) during a time of extreme chronic dysfunction during the
grieving process resulting from the death of a family member or close friend.
During these mysterious experiences, the cardinal serves as a conduit or a
messenger of the beloved to bring comfort, understanding, and acceptance to the
bereaved from beyond the natural realm transcending the state of physical death
of the descendant.”
This morning as I sat at my computer,
pouring over Facebook or Pinterest or what have ya , enjoying the silence of
early morning, as my household remained in an undisturbed slumber my dad came to
mind. It wasn’t a serious thought, just the normal activity of my
Attention-Deficit discombobulated brain, marching to the beat of its own
drummer. You ask what this has to do with the price of rice in Chine. Well, I’ll
tell ya. My dad has been an avid bird watcher for as long as I can remember;
always with his bird houses and feeders, monstrous bags of seed and mesh
sock-type receptacles full of suet, and of course The North American Guide to Bird Watching easily accessible. He has
always been especially fond of the cardinal, which we refer to as the “Christmas
cardinal” because we always seem to gift him with various cardinal figurines
for the Christmas holiday.
Well, just moments after thoughts of
dear old daddy, I ran across a website with in-depth information regarding The Cardinal Experience, causing me to
question this concept, and also whether cardinal’s had come to visit me a year
and a half ago, when my baby brother took his own life. Had I been too
grief-stricken to even take notice of these crimson colored creatures that
flutter through the air with grace? Or maybe this pleasant little messenger had
paid my dad a visit when he in need? I honestly have no idea what the answers
to these questions may be, and surely will never find out; however, I thought I
would share this fantastic find for the professional-web surfer...
